Blog gives you the opportunity to create relevant content for customers. It is use as a marketing tactic to drive traffic back to your website.

The blog should be integrated with your website.

And you don't need a blog to create relevant content.

Well in my opinion both are interrelated to each other. Suppose you have a business website then a blog will help you spread as much info about that business. A blog is a good way for promotion.

You don't need a blog to do that. In fact it's often better to promote your business using normal pages rather than a blog post.

But a blog will help you generate leads for a long term. Also, it can help create a positive approach towards your business.

If you are selling offline, it is still crucial to have some kind of online destination that can provide searchers with the information they need. Blog and website both have their own importance. Company website will give potential customers somewhere to go if they search for your brand name. A business website can not only give customers an easy way to contact you, but can increase your online presence. If you have a limited budget, or you want to communicate with your customers on a more personal level, a blog might be a better choice. Business blog can usually be set up for free, or for a very small investment, on platforms like Wordpress, Blogger, Tumblr and several others.

That's true..!! You can get leads from the site itself but a blog is a effective promotional tool.

    So can the site!

A blog is just another way to publish content. The only real difference itey are published as posts not pages. Everything else is exactly the same.

It depends on the site. I have a website I keep updated, it doesn't have a blog and it ranks well for a whole load of things.

Blogs can be used for two purposes one is to get backlinks and another reason is you do blog posting and people will read become aware about your brand.

The blog is the major driver of qualified leads for businesses. Through the blog, you can bring in targeted traffic that is interested specifically around your niche.

As I see you have an e-commerce portal, writing a blog around your products can get you lots of potential clients.

Let us say for an example you are selling baby-related products. You can blog about parenting, taking care of babies in a different situation, understanding the babies and lot more (You have to do your research).

Input the newsletters sign-up forms in your blog and then you would be able to market your products offerings that have high chances of conversions.

A blog is all about providing valuable information around your products and industry and sometimes providing free giveaways or resources.

It can be but mostly it isn't.

How many times have you read a blog post and then went on to make a purchase?

In my case the answer would be: never.

In your case, it might be never. But does not happen in the real world.

Head on to ahrefs blog where and you might get a probable idea on how qualified leads are acquired.

Another example is going to any web hosting blog and see how day blog on specific niches and up-sell and cross-sell their services within the blog.

@Alexgracias you didn't answer the question.

How many times have YOU read a blog post and then went on to make a purchase?

Did you choose YOUR host after reading a blog post?

You still didn't answer the question.

How many times have YOU read a blog post and then went on to make a purchase?

Disagreeing is fine, but please explain why you think I am wrong.

When I want to buy something I look on eBay, Amazon, do a Google search or ask others for recommendations. I've never ever read a blog post and followed a link to then make a purchase.
