Difference between lead generation and engagement. Which campaign is more effective for business?
Depends on what is being marketed and to whom.
What is effective for you may not work for me. The best marketing is a combination of methods.
Engagement is the interaction that results from your social media posts. Engagement can come in many different ways. It came show up in the form of a comment on a post. It can be a share, a like or a response. Responses are the best because its public and spurs other engagement.
Engagement leads to direct response. Direct response leads to sales.
Leads are different for every business. A lead should bring you closer to a sale. Example: leads could be those who sign up for a newsletter or download something from a website.
Without a plan and strategy in place, gathering leads can be extremely difficult. In order to obtain leads you need traffic. To get traffic you need blog posts, an SEO strategy in place, and of course you need to be active on social media.
Campaigning depends on your business, is it products based or services based?
Lead Generation is the initiation of consumer interest or enquiry into products or services of a business. Leads can be created for purposes such as list building, e-newsletter list acquisition or for sales leads.
Engagement is all about building relationships with your customers. This strategy engages customers directly. It encourages and invites customers to participate in the evolution of their brand or brand experience.
That’s probably the worst advice I’ve seen posted for a long time.
A lead is a potential customer and when they go to your site you can then create engagement. The best way to do this is to use a lead magnet in exchange for a customer's e-mail address. You can then offer value to the customer through this e-mails which will in turn lead to trust and then sales. A sales funnel is essential for engagement rather than simply a standard website.
Generating leads enables a business to engage with customers better. Lead generation strategies enable prospective customers to ask for information from a company that offers a product or service they might need.
Customer engagement is about encouraging your customers to interact and share in the experiences you create for them as a business and a brand.
Actually, lead generation is the first step towards bringing engagement. Have you ever checked the concept of Sales funnel, it will help you read out the whole concept, right from lead generation to sales accomplishment.
Lead Generation- Lead generation fits in your marketing strategy and it's an easy way to create leads for your business.
Engagement- Engagement is all about constructing customer relationships. This approach directly involves clients.
After Engagement, the lead generation process runs because before looking at the products or services, no one can generate the query.
Any reason for not agreeing with Miriam? I think she is right. SEO is one of the basic things a website needs before generating Lead or engagement. Without proper on-page SEO, your website would not be relevant to your keywords and it will not generate website visitors, forget about leads and engagement.
Leads can be got from many places. For example: advertising, cold calling, referrals, email campaigns.
This morning we had a flyer delivered for a local business offering a discount on spring garden clearance. Doesn't even have a website.
SEO may be important for some businesses but people's browsing habits are changing - they are sourcing goods and services from many different platforms. I know one person who uses ebay for just about everything, they never use Google to search for products.
Miriam specifically said you need blog posts to generate traffic. That's just not true. Nor do you need to be active on social media.
I agree with Miriam. Her reply is best. Actually the First factor is Social media is engagement. Engagement mean people on social media like you videos and interact with you in the form of comments. After this engagement, you can generate leads. leads can be any think if you want to sell your service or product then this will be your leads.
Here you go!
Lead Generation is the initiation of consumer interest or inquiry into products or services of a business. Leads can be created for purposes such as list building, e-newsletter list acquisition or sales leads. Engagement is all about building relationships with your customers.
Lead generation: It is an expression of customer interest and inquiry into the product and services of a business or we can say it is a process of converting your traffic into raw leads.
Engagement: Building relationships with your customers is called engagements or engagement is to interacts with the customer and participate in the evolution of brands and brand experience.
That's ok but she is not wrong too. You couldn't deny that she is right.
As you mentioned this, for us this is totally impossible. So should I say that this is the worst technique I would use? You always say that different techniques work in a different niche, why do you not accept other's view that something is working for them.
@cmsminds - if you read her posts she said you need to blog and be active on social media.
Both of these may be useful for some but you don’t need either. That’s what I disagreed with.
Engagement leads to lead generation. Without one, you cannot have the other (eliminating the anomaly).
That's what I am expecting from you. You should mention that "for some business these can be useful" when you say below lines
Simply put, a lead is generated when a conversion happens. User engagement is keeping users hooked with the stuff you have.
In few words, lead generation builds a database of clients without real interaction, the user fills a form, sign up for an email list, etc. without receiving a direct response. Meanwhile, prospecting requires communication and feedback, like calls, chat, etc.
They are both strategies in order to reach more customers, you could even say they complement each other. Usually you do the prospecting with the data you got using leads.
