Your website has 6-7 seconds loading time...It's too large value. The reasons could be different. For example the problem can starts with the large pictures size, typeface loading speed. Even if you have scripts on your website or external connected files it the server when it it situated has long response time your website could be significantly higher.
Try Google Lighthouse Tool (link to official page) It's an automated tool for improving the quality of web pages. Combining it with Google Page Speed Tools and gtmetrix.com which shows you each separate process in Waterfall Diagram you'll see which scripts or processes on your websites could degrade download speed.

1) Http redirects
2) Uncompressed images
3) Leverage Cache browsing
4) Unminified java & css files
First fix these main reasons to increase the website speed
@kavitabhaskar - I'd have thought the common reasons begin with poor hosting and a badly configured site.
