I was hoping for some advice, I'm weighing up the option between paying an agency to do SEO for me or just do Google Adwords to grow my business. I have run campaigns before on Google adwords where I've spend close to £300 a month and I've got sales from it (although I haven't really done conversion analysis to see how much business I got out of it). I tend to get a bit annoyed with the cost of Adwords and shut it down because the bills can go out of hand a bit. I like the idea of getting SEO done, but it seems like a lot more expensive. An agency based here in the UK who specialises in whitehat quoted me £1000 a month for SEO for a 12 month contract. He promised page 1 listing for all my keywords after 12 months. I am already on page 1 for a lot of keywords, at the bottom somwhere and it gets me hardly any visitors. So the page 1 guarantee is meaningless. I was thinking, for the £12,000 budget for SEO. If I just spend that all on Google Adwords. I'd get much more traffic and business than the SEO. I am beginning to wonder whether SEO is a waste of time and money, and more expensive than Google Adwords.
