We can promote our website offline through:
    1. Business stationery like business cards, envelopes, letterheads, reorder forms, fax covers, invoices etc.
    2. Promotional items and printed items (Roll Up Banner Stands, Flyers, Newspaper etc.)
    3. Placing banners, with your company’s URL on public transport and other accessible vehicles.

I find word of mouth to be a great way to promote businesses offline. But including the web address on stationeries would be a great move too. And if you have the budget, go for advertisements on vehicles or signages.

There are numerous basic disconnected advertising thoughts for developing your business as follows:

    1. Gather information about people’s taste

    2. Offer giveaways

    3. Cross-promote your product or services

    4. Publish your business in the newspaper

    5. Use business card.etc

Which is the best offline method depends on your business? I think most of the big websites and businesses are still spending more on the offline methods because of its delivery. Online techniques are good but they have their own disadvantages. TV commercials, Newspapers are good for showcasing Blockbuster deals as they are penetrating larger user base. Hoardings and leaflets are also useful only for targeting a certain region and have limitations to.

Offline promotion of a site is good but in most cases it won't be possible. I think the best way is stickers, TV ads and banners along the market which is targeted.

Offline promotion of a site is good but in most cases it won't be possible. However nowadays search engines focuses more on natural and organic link building. Offline promotion is helpful but only at certain level.

In offline marketing, there are so many ways to promote any business such as newspapers, newsletters, templates, business card, etc but if I talk about the different and one of the unique offline method to promote any brand name then promotional products are the best idea and it is really helpful for the business advertisers. By using the best selling promotional products, you can easily highlight your brand name in an effective way and can easily target the multiple people in a very short time.

While there are some success stories they only work AFTER the recipient has used your services or at least knows you exist. Handing out free products to cold leads is a waste of time.

I have noticed that promotion through radio and the newspaper is still relevant in some places. Not all cities and towns are lost to internet.

The problem is with the whole concept. A website is an online tool - people will visit the site from other online resources.

What you do it offline is promote the business - advertising is a good way to do this. The advert may suggest a URL to visit or a search to perform. If you read the whole thread you will see this is what all the suggestions say. It's the business you are promoting not the website.

I agree with Nill about is not possible to promote through newspaper or by car livery, so it is very expensive. For me no is recommendable to do offline promotion

Communication skills is very important in marketing as well as how you handle your customer, how you build trust of your clients, how you handle various people who don’t know English etc.…are so many things which is very important for marketing.

Pamphlet, Banners, Meeting with clients on daily or weekly basis, knowing about client reviews etc.…are important for offline marketing but proper goal and objective of the business should be clear.

If it's a mass-market item, or a product that you can target through demographic of local population it can be really effective.

I worked for a business that dealt with inheritance and wills. We got a lot of good leads by leafleting houses in retirement home areas. The company offered new wills and wills amendment services.

I would imagine pizza places near student communities would be good.

To make leafleting whorthwhile the area does need to be reasonably densely populated.

I think it can be inefficient. Therefore, you must first calculate whether it is worth spending a budget.

If you're a local business, I've had a lot of success with attending or hosting business meetups. I prefer the smaller ones instead of the huge network events where everyone is pushing business cards though. I think a great example is a group of people that I meet with in the business community for breakfast once a month. Everyone from a different industry - often leverage their connections and expertise. Very organic way of building awareness locally.
