    How many leads do you get daily from those directories?

    Is that 10, 100, 1000 per day? I only ask because Google pretty much ignores those directories. Search results don’t include the directories anywhere in the first few pages.

    In this day and age, you can go a long way by simply digitalising your small businesses. There are many free tools and resources you can use to automate a few of your operational processes and more importantly, be sure to take advantage of digital marketing. It's as simple as setting up accounts on different social media platforms and utilising the unique features of each i.e. Facebook Marketplace and various Facebook groups for promoting your business and products, LinkedIn for sharing success stories, Twitter for starting conversations etc. and then move on to the more technical things such as SEO.

    To Market a business first we have to know the demand for that business and also the marketing strategy of the business plays a important role in the business field

    Hi Justin, I came across a site recently called 'Help a Reporter Out'. If you register as a contributor they will send you emails with details of reporters that are looking for quotes/comments on a wide range of subjects.

    There are many country-specific tools available online where we can find the list of our potential customers with contact details. Just for an example, For Canadian medical businesses, we have a good "medical directory" with Canada specific online medical database.
    Similarly, we can find a good directory for almost every country.

    For small business with tight budget, go digital is a good strategy.

    Selling products on amazon.com or ebay.com sounds easy. But if there is tough competition involved then it is not easy.

    Ah yes, I can just see the tweets from the local undertaker: 'stiffs we stuffed to today'. Or the manure processor: ' get your fresh cow poo here'.

    Agree, but sometimes we have to put more effort into social media than we thought and it can give huge results but it takes time to grow and make a good presence on social media.

    You keep saying this but that doesn’t make it right. Social media may be suitable for some businesses but it’s not the right tool for everyone.

    If you sell bulk products to factories a Facebook post isn’t going to win you a new contract.

    Yes, this point is absolutely right. Social media is more useful for attracting individual customers, not for selling bulk products to factories.
