At this pandemic time being digital is very important so get into online directories is one of the best option so that many people can find you. While starting a business it is also important to be in social media also.

Social media gives validation and social proof to a prospective customer that your business is credible and trustworthy. That massively affects their buying decision. But one thing to remember is, don't try to create and maintain accounts on all social media platforms. See where your audience lives and concentrate on those. Trying to be on everything can become a massive waste of your time.

Social media is one of the best way to increase your business sale, traffic and demand online. Social media connect you to a huge audience on one platform. You can promote your brand locally and worldwide as you wish.

It can. But mostly it doesn’t. There is masses of market research on the use of SM and it all points to advertising on these platforms being the most effective.

And of course it all depends on what you are selling and to whom.

I agree but is not easy. I am starting a very small business for the Italian market, and of course, I care about social media, Facebook in particular. However, it is very hard, I have 1k followers on Facebook, all real followers, but interactions are almost nothing. I tried every kind of post, but no interactions. I understand that Social media give a kind of validation to the website, but what if there are followers but no interactions? They will think I bought my followers, which is not true. I wish I could understand why I don't produce social media interactions. Any idea?

Probably because those followers don’t care. They may not even be seeing your posts.

And SM doesn’t give any validation to your website.

I don't understand why there is such a negative attitude towards social networks
