How to Reset Power On Password if I Forgot

    Commonly, we would like to configure a laptop power on password or to enter administrator password for PC base on Windows 7, XP, Vista, 2000, etc. For example, ThinkPad power on password is the most popular. It is to prevent unauthorized users from accessing our computer. While, if we forgot power on password, it will also prevent us from entering laptop. We now need help on how to remove, recover, bypass or reset power on password.
    Luckily, for most laptops, there is Metal-Oxide Semiconductor battery which can charge the power on password to memory on the computer. So, battery also can help us disable password on password to login PC at ease.
    A. Power off computer;
    B. Removed the battery and disconnected every cable;
    C. Short-circuit the two password pads (two small square holes);
    D. Under the short-circuit condition, power on the computer and wait until the POST (Power On Self Test) ends. After the POST ends, the password prompt does not appear. The power on password reset is finished.
    If we need to reactivate the forgotten password, let’s set power on password again.
    1. Power on computer;
    2. Press F2 or other keys to login BIOS screen and select Security screen;
    3. Choose Set User Password or Set System Password and press Enter key with arrow keys;
    4. Input password and press Enter key. Then confirm password as the wizard.
    5. Save all changes and logout BIOS screen by pressing F10 key;
    6. Restart system after YES confirmed.
    If we are not practiced PC users, it may be hard for us to bypass power on password with the above methods. The most usual case is that computer users has set Windows password, and will directly refer to Windows Password Recovery tool to unlock password quickly and easily!
    3 easy ways to deal with Windows password reset problem:
    A. Download Windows Password Recovery Corporation and burn its .iso file into a blank USB Flash Drive or CD/DVD on an accessible computer;
    B. Boot the burned CD/DVD or USB Flash Drive from the PC forgotten password;
    C. Reset a new Windows password.
