Google sometimes matches a meta tag with a keyword.

Google displays what it thinks is appropriate. Doesn’t have to use your title/description

Firstly check the updated page has been indexed. Then make sure the title/description is relevant to the search query.

Yeah it does. Google doesn't update your Meta Instantly, it takes time.

Have your submitted your Sitemap on Search Console?

    That also matters a lot.

The page has already been indexed. Submitting a sitemap isn't going to help.

You should update your meta tags according to your content because of relevance matters in search engine optimization. You should use relevant keywords in Heading tags, meta tags, alt tags, and in the content to maintain keywords ranking on the search engine otherwise Google will fetch meta tags accordingly, and reflect on the search engines.

Yes, but that hasn’t happened in this case. Google is not showing the title and description.

Note also that meta description is not a ranking signal.

Google indexes wrong tag or title, the error is mostly because you have duplicate title, your title does not match its keyword.

Google Doesn't show what you want...It shows what is appropriate as per the keyword searched. You can not control it.

There are many cases where search engines will not display your title tag or meta description. Here are some possible scenarios: The title or meta description you specified is not relevant to the search query. The title or meta description you specified is too short or too long.
