    6. Treat your business as a business, not a hobby.

Too many people approach starting an internet business in an unprofessional way. They think anyone can set up a site and post up some affiliate ads and boom! riches await. A business is a business, whether online or off, so you need to treat it as a business and know basic business principles in order to make a go of it.

    business

maybe you should start by looking at advertising ideas and its costs (marketing)
also you should try hiring a public realtions specialist to help with the image you are tryin to build , as well using the four major steps of management planning , organizing , controlling , and leading

I have seen that though in changing times we must definitely have some Lawyer on board having sufficient knowledge of IT laws, Corporate lows, Labor Laws, etc..if we can not hire them, we should often seek their service when required..one such lawyer should be identified so that when need arises, you don't go searching for one..

Wouldn't you use a lawyer for legal issues and an accountant for financial issues? :)

Not always necessary Fergal, That accountant should be used for financial issues. Its true that accountant is the one who can advice you on Financial Issues on the basis of balance sheet...
But there are many issues related with finance today & for that you may need an MBA professional with specialization in Finance, may be Company Secretary or Lawyer too in some complex cases ....
