We all knew that Yahoo Answers have already became one of the mode of advertising by many website owners.
It is by finding a related question to your niche and posting your site's link on the source box.
Honestly, from what I can see, most people who use this method are spamming their links over the whole Yahoo Answers community.

Does this form of advertising works on you?

    The thing is that its
    kind of a family room
    where we all gather
help each other at the same time
its nice to be on yahoo answers
as one can also come to know about lots of lots of information about
    different things
    its nice
    one

Why not? It has a high percent of people clicking on your links wherever it is. But it is also good because you are advertising your links too into such a huge community.

I use Yahoo Answers for over 3 years. It does not sent you a lot of traffic once, but it sents traffic constantly especially if your answer is chose "best answer". It's one of my favorites traffic souce.

I haven't used Yahoo answers for seo purposes. I just read some of them and I don't think that it's effective in any way for promoting yourself.

I think yahoo answers is still a very good source of traffic. You won't get thousands of visitors but the quality is pretty good.

But you can answer a question related to your site and then post your link on the sources box.

I guess it depends on the question and answer as to how effective this is going to be. It may be that Yahoo answers can drive traffic but unless that is useful traffic it seems a bit of a waste of time...

    Limitations

Each and every tool have some limitations
and we all know that every thing has a optimum level
    behind that fall starts
So yahoo answer is a nice SM tool its that
you encounter with thousands of ideas from the direct customers
and second thing is that if you search the correct question you can
generate direct traffic to your website

its all depends upon the approach

I have tried this myself on many of my sites and it used to work before few years when it wasn't over saturated with hundreds of people. In recent years the thing is totally different, people have started reporting and Yahoo have been very active in banning those accounts.

You won't get too much visitors with it, so in my opinion it is worthless now.

you need to select relevant question to ask.
in your answer, your site can be added .however it must look natural.

I wouldn't spend too much time on it, but I could see it potentially working, but it really does depend on your niche.

As for my experiences, webmaster niches are not capable on getting from traffic from this.
Why? Of course, to get traffic from your answers, it should be on the right topic. But when you post on the webmaster sections like SEO and the like, your account would easily be reported since most members who post there already knew the trick and you are spamming your link on Yahoo answers.
In turn, your account will easily be suspended.
