A powerful tool that can make the difference between being successful or not being successful in any given situation in life or in business is the process of physically writing down your goals and objectives on a piece of paper. There is just something about putting what is very important to you in writing. This process makes your intentions clear and gives you the roadmap to know what you want to accomplish. One other step needs to be done and that includes writing specific tasks that are measurable that are required to making this particular goal become a reality. Not only do you need to write down your goals, but you need a list of activities to go along with each goal so you will have the steps required to making them become a reality.

Ensuring that your goals and objectives are realistic is also very important. When unrealistic goals are set, it may discourage you from your ultimate course in life because the bar is set too high and may be unreachable at the given time that you write them down. An example of an unrealistic goal may be that you want your business to make $1 million in sales in 2 weeks and you just started your business. A more realistic goal for a new business would be to make at least 2 sales in the 2 weeks. Set the goals to where they are attainable and you can measure them based on the specific steps associated with that particular goal.

Set aside some time to focus your attention on really making your goals and objectives a priority. Having a guide to your life and career can truly be the game changer you need to reach your ultimate destination in life.

Really good advice and certainly writing down one's goals and objectives is the best way to attain them.

Dream on achieving success is so common, but without focusing on the necessary steps to attain it, or having an unrealistic vision of our objectives or business procedures, we can simply spend long, long years building daydream success castles, but never a real achievement.

I think writing your aims and goals down can be helpful as it will give you something set in stone to focus on. A lot of people want to achieve certain things in life but often get distracted along the way and in the end forget just exactly what they aim in the first place was.

Writing it down will always give you that extra little bit of incentive to keep focused on what you want to do in life.

We have a family friend who always advises us to write what we want and then keep that paper in a drawer. When we would visit her, she would show us her drawing of a house that she said materialized because of that paper - her house is a good one. It has a big difference when you write down what you want - goals and objectives, whatever - that written thing can strengthen your resolve in achieving your goals.

Writing your goals down is like making them materialize on that level. Some may confuse this act with some superstition which should not be the case. The attainment of your goals will still depend on the amount of effort and time you put in making them happen. If you can write them down including the steps that would be better than guessing what is going to happen next. A mere plan in place so to speak

Very true. I actually have a bucket list of the things I want to do and achieve in life. It keeps me motivated and goal-oriented. It totally helps me a lot to be more productive and inspired to work even harder. Always visualize your goals and dream big. :)

Writing your goals is indeed a good idea because it helps you stay focused. Not just that, but when you actually go through the written list of goals, you can assess which goals are realistic and which are not.

I think writing your goals down is especially good advice for people who have a lot irons in the fire, so to speak. While it may be easy to keep focused on your goals in one area, if you are working on multiple projects simultaneously, some things can fall by the way side and be forgotten completely, if not written out to reference as needed.
