eShop is a good free one. But Shopp is what we've used for clients in the past with great success. It's $55 for a single site but well worth it when we compared it to the free options out there.

Never heard of wordpress readyshoppingcart until now. Took a look and seems very promising. Great price too. Will probably to a test install and play around with it. Always on the lookout for new Wordpress shopping carts.

Ecwid and Shopp are two effective wordpress plugins for Ecommerce website. To establish your online presence and to help you in selling your product, these wordpress plugins will be very helpful.

I actually use WP -Ecommerce like you used and I love it. I've had no problems with it so far. I was so happy with it when I first got it I fell in love with WP lol.

Have you updated it to the latest?
I've tried the fresh install and its buggy plugin even when you have the Gold Cart. The support isn't responding as well.

I feel woocommerce is the best plugin and it is widely used. Other than that, you can try WP eCommerce, Ecwid, Jigoshop, MarketPress, Cart66Lite etc.

I have used WooCommerce for maybe 4-5 years now (along with a number of add-on plugins with it). I've never had any problems with it

Woocommerce will definitely be one of the best choices since they have very good support and most importantly they update their system; their plugins are pretty sweet too. I will suggest you list down what you need or want for your ecommerce store first, then see which plugin/platform can best suit your needs. You won't know you may even just go with Shopify lol

Anyone reading this thread now, +1 for WooCommerce.

Over the years, within the WordPress pool of plugins, many come and go. Within the years, there was about 3 or 4 ecommerce plugins that did a good job with WooCommerce being one of them. Years later, any WordPress website using WooCommerce is still functioning as it should, and they have become the "go to" plugin for eCommerce. One thing to remember, it does use more RAM than regular plugins, so Shared hosting may work if your're starting out. If it's more established, research has to be done.

You will find several WordPress plugins online such WooCommerce, WP Commerce, Shopp, WP-eCommerce, and iThemes Exchange. Currently, i am using wp-e-commerce for the current website.

I have not used anything else but Woocommerce. I used WP-ecommerce years ago but quickly found it to be restrictive. In all my web developing for clients and searching for plugins I only run into Woocommerce extensions. I really never see eshop or WP-ecommerce extensions. Also I never get request from client to work on WP-ecommerce or eshop. My guess is that you will not find as many eshop or WP-ecommerce developer as you would find Woocommerce.
