It is important to leave very less financial trails. If you have any pending transactions, then settle all those and thank your customers for their coperation. Make sure you move out with a clean reputation and ensure that you leave everyone else around you completely satisfied. This is what you do if you want to wind up your business completely!

These are a few things I take extra care when i need to wind up something. anything else you all want to add to the list?

Never had that experience yet. But certain things are essential when you think of winding up. Firstly, if you have clients then you should make an arrangement to move them to some other business satisfactorily. Then clearing all the liabilities is a must so you end up on a good note and maintain a good reputation with the creditors for future purposes.
