    Hello,

I needed a logo for my new website. I was thinking to hire someone to create it for me but I would like to make it my own.
Can anyone recommend me good tool and information on it?

    Thanks,

I recommend hiring someone unless you are a skilled designer. Amateur logos look like amateur logos.

I used the BAF member who posted this thread and was very happy with the logo, the delivery time and the price. I snuggest you check it out before you spend a lot of time trying to make one yourself.

This is really right, they really have a great eye for designs. But if you really want to create your own, you can make use of Adobe Photoshop, GIMP and other Graphic Design Softwares.

You can get a really nice logo from fiverr, have you checked that? Or you take it as a challenge for yourself? ;) Then, maybe try Adobe Illustrator

Logogarden is the best tool I have ever used. I do not trust anything else than that. You can get a numerous number of logos and options to write the text.

I would not do it yourself unless you are a graphic designer.
If spending tons of money is an issue, consider a site like 99designs. They ask questions (like serious vs fun, colors you do/do not like, etc.) You describe what you want and they hold an online contest. You choose from the entries. You can ask the contestants to modify things as you would a consultant. The winner gets the purse. Well, 2/3 of it. 99 designs keeps 1/3. We paid $300 and were thrilled with the logo we had developed.

There are lots of designers who will do it less than $300. consider going to some mini job sites and you'll see.
If you are to make it your own try going to fiverr like kenzo said or maybe seoclerks.

I've used a simple paint program for my own needs, as well as one or two drawing programs for iPad (which make drawing so much easier).

I am a do it yourselfer, but I agree with Business Attorney that the logo should look professional. If you need to spend money on a pro, do so. Your logo is your company's image.

I'm with everyone on the point of hiring your own graphic designer.

You can get someone to work for you for full time here: https://www.staff.com/skill/graphic+design

I would recommend someone full time because as you will observe later on, you need to have a lot of graphics done. Much better to hire once for a full time graphic designer than hire multiple ones on different freelancing sites.

The latter could give you headaches.

    Hi
Mostly graphic or web designers use photo shop. The best way is to visit youtube there you will find which tools mostly designers are using to create logos.

Use Adobe photo editing softwares. To help you make a logo i think you should use Adobe Vectors.

Sometimes, when I just want to test creating a logo myself, either I used adobe photo editing software or this site: pixlr.com.

From my point of view Adobe Photoshop is the best for designing the logo of a website.
