    Hi there,

I am looking for some advice on the most accurate job title for a role with the following responsibilities:
    - responsible for staff (team management) within one of the sites of the company - managing around 12 people
    - in charge of one side of the business (specialising in a specific industry)
    - growing sales and profitability in the department
    - HR and admin responsibilities
    - developing new processes, KPIs, appraisals etc
    - reporting directly into the MD

The current proposed title is Senior Account Manager, however I feel this title only reflects managing client accounts, but not responsibility for staff and managing the office. I suggested Sales Manager/Director, however this only reflects the Sales side of the role, but I would also be managing operations and translations.

I am currently thinking of Team Leader/ Team Manager/ Department Manager.

Do you have any other suggestions that could accurately reflect the responsibilities for this role?

Let the specific side of the business involve "Widgets." I would say such a person is a Widget Sales Manager.

Team leader reporting to team manager,
Team manager reporting to Department Manager and
    Department manager reporting/coordinate to HR/MD.

    So, Department manager is perfect.

GM is the right thing. But, am really not sure on the HR part of his activity though it is into his bucket. Would love to know on the right designation :)
Is this title to be segregated Department wise? or is it one for the whole site?

Well you seems to be capping the role of a all round manager in best possible manner. So team manager job title can go well with your no of responsibilities.

yes, this is all-round post so General Manager is good.
you may consider legal requirements for the title because in some countries there are specific salary levels for specific posts

It's managing only one side of the business, meaning one department only right? aside from its managing role, it'll report directly to the MD, so Department Manager is preferable.
