if you plan to accept credit cards for transactions on your Quick Shopping Cart site, either through a payment gateway or using a Point Of Sale (P O S) credit card machine, then you must have an S S L Certificate for your site. This is to ensure the security of your site when handling your customers' personal and credit card information. If you do not plan to accept credit cards through a payment gateway or using a P O S, you do not have to have an S S L Certificate.

SSL certificate is a security, it ensures users that they are browsing a trustworthy website, so it is easy for them to shop online then. So for an ecommerce website it is good.
