"A podcast is a type of digital media consisting of an episodic series of files (either audio or video) subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication. The word is a neologism derived from "broadcast" and "pod" from the success of the iPod, as podcasts are often listened to on portable media players."

Podcasts are digital media files which are produced in series. So at once you have to subscribe the series of files, by using a piece of software which is called podcatcher. So once you subscribe podcatcher it periodically checks to see if new files have been published. So automatically downloads them on to your PC for you to listen or watch whenever you want.

Podcasting is quickly becoming a discussion concept among the technical audience. So what is podcasting, anyway? Podcasting is online sound articles that is provided via an RSS nourish. Many people compaired podcasting to stations on need. However, in fact, podcasting gives far more options with regards to articles and on-line than stations does. In addition, with Podcasting, audience members can identify the time and the place, indicating they decide what on-line they want to obtain and when they want to pay attention to it.

A podcast is identical to a radio show or television show which is packaged and delivered online as a download. This allows the listener to download and listen or watch the show when it is most convenient for them rather than based on the creators "Air" schedule. This method and the continued popularity of the internet has shown that while Podcast may not replace traditional radio broadcasts they are definitely going take a large junk of talk radios. For the first time any regular person can have a voice that can be heard around the world without the need for backing from a major network or radio station.
