    I totally agree that on-page optimization in very important, it should be done before start off-page SEO. I experience to make a simple website only doing the on-page SEO without any off-page SEO, and google search is giving me about 100 UV per day.

    By the way, the importance of the meta tag is very low. Google already mentioned that they are ignoring meta tag, and i believe some other big search engine like bing or yahoo is doing the same because the search engine technology now is good enough to "catch" the keyword without meta tag.

    On Page optimization is two kinds of optimization followed by Search Engine Optimization. In On page optimization we make changes on the page that affects its ranking on SERP. This normally consists of pages written in the Hyper Text Markup Language but also applies to other document formats that are indexed by search engines

    and i thought meta tag is not important to search engine anymore?

Ensure that all of web pages can be indexed by search engines ensure that they all have at least one link from somewhere on your site.

    ON PAGE OPTIMIZATION :
    Include your main keyword in Title tag (most important)
    Include your keyword in meta keyword tag (your choice)
    Include your keyword in meta description (very important)
    keep keyword density of around 2.5 to 3% throughout the body content.
    Use keyword in alt attribute ( make sure your images describe your keyword which you are using in alt attribute)
    Insert your Main title In H1 tag and also include your main keyword in this title.
    In body content..if possible start your paragraph with your main keyword.....thenyou must use your keywords once in the middle of the body content and once at the end of the paragraph
    Bold your keyword at least once..

    On-page optimization is probably the simplest of these two aspects of search engine optimization. It relates to the elements on the web page itself. That is, the words, and what importance is given to the words on the page. On Page is using things like H1 tags, meta keywords, content to keyword density, etc.

On page optimization by itself is powerful, but depending on the competitive nature of the keyword phrase, It is nothing more than the optimizing of your website pages to influence and improve the website search engine rank and position.
