    Friends
From the past few months we are seeing many updates, roll outs, punishments, ranks decreasing, penalties and much more. It is very clear that Google is moving commercially ahead but why it is not considering back links?

Many SEO experts are working hard to build back links but search engines are counting them. If you observe 'Google PageRank' there is no update since December 2013 and Google's employee Muller was clearly announced that there is no scope or hopes to update page rank.

Even Face book become commercial, asking to promote page in thd form of ads and recently they have made restrictions in face book page settings.

So any fresher/experienced SEO expert observe these things, one thing is very clear that back link strategy us weakening day by day.

I wouldn't say that backlink strategy is getting weaker, I would say it's getting stronger, because they now have more meaning than before. Instead of compiling a ton of links from any source they can, webmasters and marketers now must attach the link to content that actually has value to the reader. Even directory links should now be coming from top-quality directories like Yelp, Citysearch, or 411.com. Google has made great strides eliminating useless links, and those who provide them, but there is more work to be done. As it continues, those that remain will be the strongest, not the weakest.

Some back links strategies are becoming in-effective like guest posting but profile links from Google + are very effective in increasing ranking of website for certain keywords.Links from twitter are very useful to get high ranking

Now a days backlinks do place an important role in order to rank in Google SERPs. If you have quality backlink you can easily rank in Google, after content Google gives more preference to the backlink only.

    Hi,

Yes many changes have been done by search engine giant Google, but it would be great for one website to build backlinks related to its niche website. Backlinks from sites related to your product or services can help your site rank for the keywords and please avoid anchor tags use naked URL or long tail keywords for backlink building.

Very insightful response on my question. As you said we have to include anchor tags/links in the content and that should be related to our website from we are getting back links. Quality content always does matters, if we share our business listing in popular sites like you suggested that gives more search visibility to our website. We need to check business listing and directory sites alexa ranking before post in that because Page rank was officially dead.

Also Google no longer count Page rank at all, its now down to the quality of the links to your site and the authoritive sites they come from. Joeroxx is right because links from Yelp and Citysearch are going to help a page rank higher because they have authority. Only focus on getting links from authoritive sites and you will find you wont need that many.

Its not about quantity of backlinks but quality of backlinks. 2015 is about earn links not create. Now Google has changed many things. It does not consider page rank. Now google is considering many other things instead of page rank such as Page authority, domain authority, moz rank etc.

SEo is an ongoing process. As links get older, their relevance is reduced. When Google decides who should rank on the top of the SERPs, they want to know provides the best result NOW. A website that has old links that were relevant in the past, but has no current backlinks, may not be as relevant to the search as it was before, and is therefore not getting any current traffic. Therefore you must have new links on an ongoing basis.

He did. Did you miss the part where he mentioned page and domain authority? Perhaps you are looking for more information on why these things are important? In that case, you're right, that information should have provided in the original post, and you shouldn't have had to ask for it.
