If you own a High PR site and concider exchanging links to site with low PR, what effect can it do to your high PR site?

Link exchane wouldn't harm your site if the exchange partner site is quality site although they are PR0

Sigma is correct. I would add an additional point, to avoid a site become link farm, monitor the number of outbound links is a must.

According to advance web ranking report, it recommend below 200 links, but personally I would recommended below 100 links. If you make analysis toward those directory listing website, their root domain is within PR3-PR4.

Site like DMOZ, business.com, joeant.com have high PR, because their root domain is priority to inbound links, then they make outbound links from subpage. In this point, it less harm to root domain.

it depends on how big your site, if your site have 100,000 pages, nothing wrong for you to have thousands OBL.
However, if you have only 1 page website, 10 OBL is consider quite many

Yes, you might get penalized by google as link farm.
Back to the answer at my previous post, it depends on how big your site

Sigma, I have a further question. If a site have a lot of OBL with no follow attribute, does it consider link farm?

Good point. After all those links with nofollow attribute are still OBL.

Another question. Its good to actually move from point A to point B :D

So its okay now exchange links with lower pr sites. But what if that lower pr site has lots of OBL? And some of those are your competitors and related sites, is it just fine too?

    ownedbox already answer the question

Again back to the point, you gotta judge the quality of the site. I never see few page site with tons of OBL can be considered as quality site

Basically it's a site that has been set up to exchange links with other sites, with the sole purpose of increasing search engine rankings. Link farms will link to lots of sites completely unrelated to their niche and that are of no interest to their visitors.

It doesn't matter if a high PR site gets link from low PR site... as far as the website is relevant to your site.

Make it simple, low quality content + high OBL
By the way, you can go Wikipedia to check it in more detail

Definitely. If you want to promote into wider audiences, a low PR is not a big hindrance to you...
