    Hello friends,

I have one website with Page Rank 3 and back link count in Yahoo site explorer is around 2000. It is a web development company's website and having blog with regular updating content also. I have said to do only ONE WAY and FREE link building with PR 3+ sites.

    I am doing

    Directory Submission
    Social Bookmaking
    Articles
    Press Releases
    Blog Commenting
    Forums Posting
Social Media Optimization (Face book, Twitter, Linked In)

so any body knows any other way to do link building excluding above mentioned methods which will be quality link building.

Also if someone has lists of PR 3+ websites (Directory and Business Listing) then please share with me.

    Thanks in advance.

You seem to have quite a bit of your bases covered already. I am glad to see that you are using one-way links, as these are more valuable than reciprocal links. I do have one question. Are you using your keyword phrases as backlinks in your articles, press releases, and blog posts? The search engine's bots and spiders will pick these up, and raise your ranking accordingly.
For the same reason, don't limit the list of sites you ask for to Directories and Business Listings only - having links from a diversified group of sites is more important. Remember, quality (which doesn't necessarily mean Page Rank) is better than quantity.

Joeroxx made three key points. My view is that the more different backlink sources, the better. So, by all means, keep using all your current sources.

For PR5-PR9 links, you might want to check out Angela's Links. Just do a search.

.edu and .gov links carry much more weight. Do a search for:

    site:edu inurl:wp-login.php +blog
    site:edu inurl:"wp-admin" +login
Substitute .gov and .mil in the two URLs

This should uncover some high-value link sources for you.

    sbglobal you should find the two threads below helpful, there are great tips in the link building one and there is a great list of directories in the second one;

Can someone share some link building tips?
    Web Directory List

Great suggestions there rdcclu. In relation to "Angela's Links" are they not mostly spammy links from fake member profiles?

Press releases can work very well for some businesses Nancy. If you have something news worthy it is worth sending out a well written press release. The media don't charge you to publish it and it can deliver great publicity for your business. If you have any specific questions as to how to write a press release or use one for your business or website please start a new thread in this section and we'd be delighted to help you.

You're really covering most of the basics already, so there isn't a huge amount that can be added. The one comment I would make is not to get blinded by "PR". While it is a factor, it's not the be all and end all.

Think about the other relevant factors too (page rank, domain authority, uniqueness of source, anchor text, topical relevance, trustrank, link location [on page placement], context of link, link type [html, image, JS], number of links on a page, diversity of sources, number of root links, geolocation of link source, etc. etc.). Too often people only care about the 'quantity of links', with a little education they take it a step further and want 'high PR links', but PR is only one part of what is a very complex jigsaw.

I agree with what was trying to be said there (or at least what I believe you were trying to say), but to ensure nobody takes that the wrong way I just wanted to clarify.

There is nothing inherently wrong with reciprocated links, nor do they provide any less 'value'. The problems with reciprocal links is when they are making up an inproportionate segment of a given link profile (so it's obviously not 'natural' linking) and when the majority of links are coming from/going to totally irrelevant sites.

If you get a link from a major press release in the NY Times, for example, it certainly won't hurt you in the slightest to link to that article from your website. Just because it's a 'reciprocal link' it doesn't get devalued.

Mostly? The entire premise is building up profile links on a huge number of high PR sites.

I'm not sure if 'spammy' is the right word, they don't actually 'spam' the sites in question, but it's 'something'. Then again, if BAF ever hits the list and you get hit with a massive surge in mute sign ups, I'm sure you'd feel 'spammy' was a euphemism.

We actually had a problem with fake profiles being set up in the past. People registered but never made a post, they included links to Viagra sites and the likes, in the homepage field of their profile. We had so many people (and perhaps some bots) doing this that we had to disable the homepage field, which was a shame because it stopped legitimate and contributing members from getting a small benefit, that we were delighted to give them.

I will say what you did is enough, it will be better to spend at least 50% of your time on content itself. Content is the best way to build link, you can get natural link through great content. Content creation is the best link building way for the long term

Although both rdcclu and sigma have provided helpful ways to find .edu and .gov links, I should point out that Matt Cutts himself has stated that, all else remaining equal, .edu and .gov domains have no more weight than any other domain.

You're doing exactly what's called back linking, now focus on some content relevancy & uniqueness.
