Hello, so the question is easy, I'd like to see your opinion of what webhosting type is the most suitable for webmasters here: shared, vps or dedicated. Feel free to share thoughts not mentioning the price, lets guest that all 3 types cost the same.

Obviously dedicated is the best option. You can have the whole control with yourself. There is no such restriction in order to manage the data.

No doubts with dedicated server you will get more freedom and better flexibility for your needs, also all the performance is yours

If it wasn't for the price then everyone would buy a dedicated server only. There is no other reason why someone would not.

I prefer VMs, because they are elastic and usually easy to setup with templates.
Dedicated servers, of course, currently cannot be outdone in terms of performance-for-cost...

If you have relatively small website and a static one or a cms website, then shared will be more than enough for you given the fact that they guarantee uptime for the website. Go with some branded and good established hosting provider for the same. If you have some bigger website where a lot of user engagement is needed then minimum you should have VPS or dedicated depending on the size of website.

Dedicated of course - full control with all the resources.
However you have to know how to configure and maintain a server ;)

Dedicated for sure! What happen's when you are on a shared server and it won't let you upload a file over a certain size? You have to edit your php.ini file! You need to call your provider if you are on a shared server! Or you can just change it yourself if you have a dedicated server!

Seems dedicated has won, not surprising at all. Thanks for your replies!

Understand the differing types of hosts: shared, collocated, unmanaged dedicated, and managed dedicated. Is your site brand new with little traffic? In the event your site is a newer domain, you won't need the raw power of a dedicated server unless your site is resource intensive which can include: streaming, video's, proxies and even linking to videos as well can cause a high load on Apache and the CPU(s).

In fact, a number of resellers sell the same packages cheaper than their original hosting company. If you find out that a particular company is a reseller, you will need to investigate both the reseller and the real hosting company.
