I'm trying to set up a offline SQL database so I can work on websites without having to go online. I have been told the WAMP would be my solution to this problem, but I know nothing about how to set this up so I could use it. Does anyone have any advice regarding this area and is WAMP the best program to use?

    Thanks for your help

When you install WAMP (very simple given that it's a GUI installer and not command-line), you'll get all the web-based interfaces you need to manage a database. The install will provide you with phpMyAdmin and SQL Buddy, both of which will let you manage and create databases.

You will still need internet to manage your websites DBs, so it is only a question of usability

WAMP is not a program in fact, it will help you to create a local server to have apache and mysql on your windows machine. To manage database you will need tool such as phpmyadmin or navicat or whatever you like
