When the iPhone debuted in 2007, it was exclusively sold by AT&T. Not any more - Verizon has announced that they will start selling the iPhone on February 10. Lowell McAdam, Verizon's chief operating officer, called it "the beginning of a great relationship between Verizon and Apple".
The phones will be pre-sold starting on Feb. 3, and will run only at 3G speeds. They will be $200 or $300 with a two year contract, depending on model. The 3G speed is slower than AT&T's 4G, but Verizon has a wider 3G network than AT&T.
The announcement was made by Apple at 1:11 AM on 1/11/11.

That's good news, hopefully more competition will reduce the prices at least a little.
