Tool for competition analysis

    How can we do competition analysis for my keywords?Is there any tool that can tell me how many other sites are using the same keyword & also for which keyword competition is high & low?

    If you know who your competitors are then you can go their websites and look at the code of their websites. Simply go to the site and click on “View” at the top of the browser, then “Page Source”. A page of html code will pop up and the keywords will be buried in the code near the top of the page.

    Websites that are targeting specific keywords for their web pages will normally use those keywords in the titles of those pages, at least the sites that are serious about those keywords will. So a good way to find those sites is to do an "allintitle" search in Google - this search will show you the web pages that are using the search terms / keywords in their title tags.     Competitor analysis in marketing and strategic management is an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competitors. This analysis provides both an offensive and defensive strategic context to identify opportunities and threats.

    Every business has competition and prospective business owners ignore competitors at their peril. Unless a business has an absolute monopoly on a life-essential product, there will be competitors offering alternative and substitute products and services.

    You do not need any software for competitor analysis, Just type your core keyword in Google and find the top results having same services in the same region. You can check as many keywords as you want but use only 10 keywords. After that study your competitor and compete with them to raise above all your competitors.

    You can use google adwords for competitor analysis but in case you want more details you should use spyfu.

    Hi! You can use Google Adwords, as of now, mostly of us are using this tool. But if you have yourself enough budget, you may use Keyword Spy. This is also good and effective in keyword analysis.

    I think its very easy to find out competitors and their targeted keywords without using any tool or software.In this thread some experts already told some important trick to do it.You should manually research on every competitor's website and then try to find their backlinks.targeted keywords and also what link building methods they are implementing.

    I have used Market Samurai for this. Very good tool which shows your current competition too.

    Like stellaandreapark have said, market samurai is great for competitor analysis and so is Micro Niche Finder. Neither of them is free however.

    What about alexa? If you dig up the information about a site it shows the potential keywords on the side bar. I think that would give some idea what keywords are being used, unless you want keywords of a niche then I'm afraid some other method would be applied.

    This is not true, it is pointless to target a high competition keywords with low searches and conversion. Ideally target high traffic keywords with low competition can save much more effort. I rather target more long tail keywords than target a high competition keywords, because the chances to rank is lower.

    Google adwords tool + Webmaster tool + analytics tool = perfect combination.

    You can use The search engines Ppc, as of now, mostly of us are using this device.But if you have yourself enough funds, you may use Search phrase Spy.This is also excellent and successful in keyword research.
