"Thin content" basically means that a website page does not have enough content for the search engines bots to find out what the subject of the page is. Since they cannot figure out what the subject of the page is, they cannot determine under what keywords to list the page.

Thin content is some content on a web page which is quite small and could have been little more that could have represented the web page basically in a more clear form. As per Google's guidelines thin content are quite harmful from the SEO perspective.

Does anyone know if "thin content" include pictures, meta tags, etc. as well as text?

Hmmm, I think it's still considered as Thin Content if the page's contents are just photos, unless it has good amount of alt tags and other additional description on the page itself.

Joeroxx has very well defined what “Thin content” is exactly. If your website has thin content then there is a possibility of your site being affected by Panda 4.1. It is a proven fact that a content rich website performs well in SERPs.

Thin content is low quality content, simply because there is not enough of it, but "low quality" can also refer to the content itself. If the small amount of content you have is not informative, helpful, and of interest to your visitors, it is both thin content and low quality content. But even high quality content will not be helpful if there is not enough of it. It can still be considered "thin" content.

Thin content has already been explained well. Remember most of the SEO guys thinks its impossible to rank website with thin content. Its an old logic. You will just have to make sure the less content is useful and it is providing user whatever is required. Use images alt attributes to improve keywords density.

Good spot this, looks like certain thin content pages are now being reported as Soft 404 errors by Google.

Fresh, unique content is also interesting to other websites. These incoming links will boost your search rankings.
I would also recommend paidforumposting.com team of writers, their team of professional writers know the steps on generating traffic to web sites.

    Joeroxx is right,
You have well defined this term, but I like to correct some point. If website is having thin content, but those sentences are enough to define what exactly the page is? then,i don't think there is any issue for that content. But that content should be too the point & also keywords should be well managed in it.

It means you your website doesn't contain in-depth articles about a particular topic so if you want to improve your rank you must add informational quality contents to your site

Thin content means that the word count of your article is too less. Google generally suggests more than 300 words per article. But it's usually good to write articles with minimum 500 words in it. More than 1000 words would be awsome for SEO. Plus people love and share articles with more than 1000 words. They look at you as someone who is knowledgeabe. That doesn't mean you should write crappy content with more than 1000 words though.

You should also maintain a good ratio of number of keyword in your article to the number of words in it. 3% to 4% is a good ratio. Too less and your seo won't be competitive enough. Too much and google will look at your article as keyword stuffed and avoid ranking it.

    Hope that helps :)
