Did you know what is the rarest animal in the world?

It's the Pinta Island tortoise. It is a turtle that can be considered as one of the few species of Giant Galapagos tortoises and the rarest animal in the world. According to reports, there is only one Pinta Island tortoise left alive so far. It was found alone in 1972 on Pinta Island and brought immediately to the Charles Darwin Research Station

A last member of its kind (Geochelone elephantopus abingdoni), a male tortoise was found alone in his home Galapagos Island Pinta in the early seventies.

I have seen some footages of the said tortoise on TV just a while back.
I do hope the next generation could still see one.

It's very sad when animals become extinct, or almost extinct. It should be a wake up call that we need to do more to protect and conserve our environment.

Here's a video of the said tortoise. But video embedding is disabled so I'll just post a link:

If people don't stop being so careless to animals and nature, very soon all the animals will become the rarest. Sometimes I am terrified by the idea that my grand children won't see the animals and the nature that I have seen.
