Steve Jobs, the mastermind behind Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes, has died, Apple said. Jobs was 56.

"We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today," read a statement by Apple's board of directors. "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts."

I was saddened by the news this morning Steve Jobs made a huge contribution to consumer technology and his innovations played a most significant part in making technology user-friendly and accessible to everyone. May he rest in peace. I've posted it more than once before but I feel that the video below is a tribute to the man.

Sahil, Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004 and has been battling with it ever since.

[I've merged the posts from the other thread into this one.]

What an awesome guy. Luckily he sold Apple before all of this so no feuds regarding the company will happen.

    R.I.P Steve Jobs

We have lost a great mind last Wednesday. Thank you for his contribution to the Technology World.

"And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs

No, he did not sell the company. He just changed the CEO to Tim Cook. He was still in Board of Directors of the company, if I am not wrong.

Yes, that was too sad. :(

Yes, he resign the CEO position due to the healthy reason, and pass it to Tim Cook
Unfortunately, he pass away just after the iphone4S launched
