What type of software do you use for your business' site? I don't have an actual an online business at the moment. I was thinking about maybe opening one this summer is why I ask :)

Are you talking about CMS? If yes, then most people will prefer Joomla. I do not use CMS rather developed my own backend system.

Didn't you say in another thread that you make a daily backup of your business site?

I use vBulletin for this site and PHPBB for my other forum.

Well its actually a forum right now and on phpbb. I was thinking of asking this because I was thinking of opening an actual business site for designing but I am a novice at this.

There are many CMS like Joomla, Wordpress... for e-Commerce site Magento, X-Cart, Zen Cart, osCommerce. which CMs would be best for you depends on your website's requirements.

Use WordPress for a CMS. You can download a lot of plugins to make you life a lot easier. I like -> All in One SEO Pack, Gravity Forms, and Custom Permalinks.

It really depends on type of the business.
For eCommerce web-sites you can use Shopify, however this is not the best solution.
As guys mentioned before, you can have Joomla as well.
Just find your needs first and then you can search for needed CRM system for your business
