I would like to point out three main differents beetween SEO and PPC. The first difference are the costs. While you need to pay for the clicks PPC is sending to you, the clicks you are receiving from SEO are free. Refering to the effects SEO is bringing you a quick boost of traffic to a specific site if you are willing in to pay the price of the clicks. Beside of this PPC will bring you the top position for your choosen search terms in your major pay per click engines. Keeping SEO is mind, it is a much slower process refering to the effects.

Summarized this means that SEO is much cheaper and lasting longer compared to PPC.

There are a few things to consider in order to choose between SEO and PPC, depending on the type of business and the desired result. If your business is seasonal, i.e christmas decorations, halloween costumes, or lawn mowers, a PPC campaign can be turned on and off when necessary, where an SEO campaign is a year-round endeavor, and must be continued long term. Also, SEO results take longer, where a PPC campaign can be set up and running in a short time. Third, in PPC, you have no control over the cost-per-click, and if you do not have a large enough budget, you may not be able to pay the cost-per-click for the best keywords for your business.
If your product or service can be sold year-round, one disadvantage of PPC is that it only gets a fraction of the traffic that SEO gets. If you do not run an SEO campaign, your competitors can be getting as much as five times the traffic that you are getting.
To answer your question, you have to ask a few questions. If your business is year-round, and you want as much buying traffic as possible, an SEO campaign is best. If you are looking for results quickly, and/or if your business is seasonal, a PPC campaign might be a better fit. If you want a quick boost in traffic, but also need a sustainable, long-term marketing program, start with PPC, then when you have the funds available, move to, or add, and SEO campaign.

Well in my opinion seo results are long lasting and help you in getting natural links on the other hand PPC only bring traffic towards your site. Although seo is a slow process but helpful for a long period of time than that of the PPC. PPC costs more than seo and needs a lot of budget in which one can easily manage the SEO.

Both of the PPC and SEO is driving targeted traffic to your site. The different is that PPC is driving traffic by using advertisement but SEO is driving traffic with the SERP. PPC is fast and easy but costly, SEO need skill, knowledge and time, it is long term process but the cost is cheap if you compare the cost in long term

I know a lot of people who are very successful at driving traffic to their sites through PPC and they will tell you that to achieve that success with PPC took a lot of skill, knowledge and time. They continually test new ads, monitor the results, and work on the landing pages since the quality of the page and how well it matches the keywords in the ads affects both your relative placement and the amount of your bids.

In many ways, PPC takes more skill, knowledge and time than SEO does, because it can be so costly.

In terms of the cost, by the way, while it can be costly, if you can get more targeted clicks and more conversions, that is really the bottom line. If it didn't work, you wouldn't see the same companies running AdWords campaigns year after year.

Finally, there is a relationship. Studies have shown that having a PPC ad on the search results pages increases not only your total clicks (which would be expected) but it also actually increases the click through rate on your listing in the search results.
