I've always wanted to open up a cigarette shop online. I got close once but I realized PayPal no longer accepted those types of sites and I would have to find another online payment processor to accept money with. Do any of you know of PayPal alternatives that will accept transactions from tobacco websites?

Jerlene you could have a look at 2Checkout. You will probably want to have a close look at their terms to see what their policies are in relation to cigarette sales, but they are a helpful resource for anyone just moving into online sales.

Why do you think this business is profitable when anyone can buy cigar just about everywhere that they dont have to wait?

You should provide a wide variety of payment options. Most people would use Paypal or Credit Card. Credit Card seems like a good idea.

I know of other payment processors online but I just want to know of one that will let me run a payment gateway on a cigarette site and allow me to accept money from people by using them.

Cigarettes cause cancer and kill people. Would you not prefer to sell a product that has a positive benefit to your customers?

I prefer to sell a product that I know will sell. Yes cigarettes kill people but that doesn't stop people from purchasing 15 billion cigarettes everyday. I'm not forcing people to purchase it, I just have it available for purchase. If they don't purchase it from me they'll purchase it from someone else. Why not benefit.

Yes PayPal is a no go and wouldn't I still need a payment processor to accept payments online?

At what price rate are you selling cigarettes? I agree with Fergal that maybe selling something with a more positive benefit on society would be better but I'm also disgusted by the price of cigarettes in this country and if I was a smoker I would be buying the things in bulk as cheaply as possible from outside the UK.
