    Hello!

We are a new hardware manufacturing company that will be selling directly to retailers (Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc.). We will be offering them our hardware in clamshell packaging.

We are currently working on our pricing structure and trying to determine our price to the retailers.

Is there an average margin that retailers require on their end? We've heard its somewhere around 50 points (100% markup). IE...we sell to to them for $1, they sell it for $2.

We've also heard that specialty shops such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc., will require a bit higher margins.

Can anyone shed some light on this by chance?

    Thanks!
