if you loss you keywords in search engine than 80% chances that your site hit by penguin. Here are some things that i discussed with you about recovery.

First remove your site links on spamming sites
Try to create some blog or add post on regular basis (e-commerce site)
Write quality or unique post only not spinning
Branding on popular social media sites
Try to participate in rewieing sites

Many other factors i discuss later on my next thread,What do you think about it?

Removing SPAM links is no necessary as Google has already removed from their filter, and those will not consider in future.

So, try to get new Quality Links.

    How you can say that
I think it could be any reason penguin, panda or any other update. It can also be due to your competitors good work.

I think you have to change the full design of your site as well the content and give it a fresh start, submit it to search engines for getting rank again.

Or just wait until Google comes up with another adjustment that may send your competitors plummeting and push your site back up in the SERPs. :)

The answer is: no one knows.

I think the best approach is to keep improving your website. Unless you did something really bad, your site is not being penalized, it is just not getting rewarded for things that worked in the past. You still probably have some good content and some natural links. To throw those away makes no sense. Just take a fresh look and build on what is good. Leave the rest there but focus on what is going to reward you the most.

This is true, because we are building a site for target reader instead of search engine, User eXperinece (UX) is very important. Penguin and Panda are only targeted to existing page, so new page content will be give a new judge.
