What is the difference between Profile Link and Signature Link? Will the Profile Link have the same effect as the signature link in boosting your site?

Profile link is the link which you put on the homepage form of your forum profile.
Signature link on the other hand is the links you see below each forum posts.

Some link building providers offer a service where by they create profile links back to your site. What they do is create false accounts on a variety of membership and social networking sites, then add a link to a website, from the profile of each of those accounts. This is a very spammy method of generating links, in my opinion and is not something to be encouraged. Unfortunately we received so much profile link spam to sites selling Viagra, etc, etc, here on Business Advice Forum that we had to turn off the profile links in all member profiles. It was a shame to have to do this, because genuine members would have been more than welcome to have the profile link.

Profile link back to your site. create fake accounts on a variety of membership and social networking sites, then add your website link to your profile and share this link, Example Facebook. Signature link means your website URL.

Most people I think agree by this point that the profile link itself is more valuable than the sig links are. Otherwise, we'd all spend all of our time posting on forums. Profile links are spam though....so that's one major problem with them outside of the fact that they get deleted regularly.

I'm not so sure about that. On forums where I post I have a max of one profile link, however, I could have thousands of links coming from my signature.

Well here is the difference in terms of back link juice you will get if you put signature link or profile link:

If you create profile on some site and if you place your link there you will get only one backlink. Now if you register to some forum and place signature link, from each post on the same forum, you will get backlink.

Note: Here I am not talking about which is better, just showing difference :D

It should be the same but it is easy to get some PR on the profile page than the thread. Also, people would like to create 1000 profile link from different forum and dont willing to spend time to make 1000 quality post at forum

Their are more types of profile links like forums ,social networks and websites. So some of Seo workers try to create profile links where other types of link creation doesnot allowed. This method is applying on forums too but this doesnot work or boost those who dont post regularly. As for my knowledge If you are a regular poster then your profile link will get boosted since Spider crawls to your post or threads then your profile too but if you have created once profile and profile link then spider crawls at that time and it will leave again for crawling.
Try to post on forums with signature then see the difference. In my life i have seen only forum signature links are more worth than any other type link building

Welcome to our Business Forum dripworld. I agree with you people who just join a forum or social networking site to add a link to their profile and then don't contribute further to the site, are likely to have their link deleted and even if they don't it is quite spammy and they are unlikely to get any real search engine or other benefits from that link. Unfortunately that fact doesn't stop lots of spammers from doing it.

I seen s in vbulletin few plugin which can automatically deletes members those who have 0 posts. Some of the forum owners who got tired and removed profile link signature links etc.The only solution is nofollow attribute
    For the OP
Please dont hire to build signature links on the forums since they make posts for the money but contribution to the forum owners.you can get even traffic from signature links since most of them like to read public forums

Even with that said, you can still choose which posts you will pay.

So do you think is it good to make duplicate accounts in forums ? since this seo companies makes duplicate accounts.IT is stated in every forum that one cannot make another account without the permission.
IF you are saying for the posts that are good to pay then what about the spam posts.Do you think how the owner is getting tired from those **** posts ?

profile links in small amounts in welcome websites with anchor text can be helpful, but getting thousands of spammy usually no-follow links is almost pointless and getting more pointless year after year

I didn't said that one just make duplicate accounts to post their links, right?
Besides, most employers won't pay a link builder who create multiple accounts on a same forum and just promotion the same link.

Profile link is what you have created in your profile page in social networking sites and signature link is mostly applicable to forum sites. These links appear under your posts each time you post something.

I am not saying that you have told well what i mean is if someone already created an account on a forum for one client then if other client requires links on the same forum then what does he can do ?
I agree with your earlier post as you said one cannot make posts on forums for all the time to get a link.

Most forums allow their members to have more than one link in their signature. He could simply add a link for the next client to his signature on the forum, without removing the previous client's link. There are lots of forum members who make good money from selling links in their forum signatures.
