Is doing PPC or pay-per-click advertising helps in gaining a higher SERP or Search Engine ranking Position?

    Re:

Well, PPC is directory connected with traffic, it is paid advertising in search engine. And I don't think it is affected on keyword ranking. Because search engine natural ranking factor is different then his revenue ranking factor.

No. It doesn't have any effect on your rankings. The competition, when it comes to PPC is on how well you select the keywords you will bid for. Furthermore, it is a paid campaign. PPC can be helpful if you are also doing your SEO as it might help you have both traffic and possible revenue sources for your website (which is SEO and PPC).

In PPC, when you bid for a keyword, and won it, what will happen is every time someone else type in Google the keyword (whether it is broad, exact, or match phrase) - your website ad/page will appear in highlighted area of the SERPs. (i guess you know it already). So you do not have to rank anymore, but to CHOOSE the right and most searched keyword + if ever that keyword is converting enough revenue to your portal, etc.

Thanks for that infographic. So that does mean that PPC can indirectly affect the SERPs of one's site?

Indirectly it does help. Instead of improve SERP, PPC is more effective to cover wide range keywords, improve company branding and generate instant traffic.

PPC does not increase SERP. If you want to get high SERP through organic traffic then PPC does not help you.
