    Hi All,

Personal payments - Gift/Shared Expenses/Payment Owed option is no longer there in Paypal. I just logged in this morning to see that option disappeared - is it just me or is it the case with everyone's account ? I used to save quite a bit of fees for me and my team this way..I guess that wont happen any more :(

Woah, that's interesting. PayPal must have guessed that we were abusing it .. haha.

    Thanks for sharing.

Yeah..well they did charge few cents on personal too - but that was okay.. and I used to get service payments too every once in a while to ensure Paypal does get some fees (I mean, they deserve it !) but.. this is BADDD for business.. makes me lose over $200 in JUST paypal fees

Paypal fees really do hurts. But in reality, this is he way they earn.
Anyways, I have been receiving money trough mass pay and the fees are very minimal.

How much are the fees now? Weren't they a small percentage before? Like 5% of the money you gave?

Are you sure about this information? That's really uncomfortable.

The way Paypal is doing this act, is they've more members that use Paypal on default. So, they can change whatever rule they have and charge alot of fees. The fees are rising high where Paypal is earning more. That's very insane actually!

Anyways, thanks for the information. I wasn't looking for such information but thanks for reminding.

Personal options are still available in my PayPal account. Those options are not supposed to be used when you are making payments for business. Perhaps PayPal felt that you were using personal options to make business related payments and hence disabled them from your account?

You are right - Paypal has the BEST service and not only that.. they are the most popular. No online business can survive without them.

Same as before 2.4 = 3.4 % plus $0.30 per transaction and more if client pays via credit card - 5-6 %

Oh..so thats the reason :( I did hear they will remove the option is ppl abuse it .. I guess thats my case. I checked with few other people, their options were removed too -- so maybe we all did that :( I was just trying to save my writers from the fees.. I guess it's inevitable now and they will have to bear it.. and so will I from my clients. Well, no worry.. It is a business cost , I guess.

Not up to 3.4% but 3.9% for cross border transactions...

UPDATE - Paypal has stopped personal payments to / from India. So, even if IT is a gift.. It will be reversed until it is sent as good/services OR through some other way.

Yep, It is just for Indian users because, there are many Indian webmasters always using this options. So, PayPal has stopped Personal Payment options for only Indian accounts.

Maybe because Indian users tend to overuse that system.

I've Indian paypal account too. I've not recently been doing any transaction.

What is the actual problem? Paypal doesn't like transaction through credit cards or bank funds? Anyways, I'm not using any credit cards or band transfers.

Yep, I got the same problem. But it was a small amount so, not to worry too much.

I think this is because PayPal has removed the Personal Payment option and now reversing the few recent transactions made with it. This is too sad for any service provider. Because of this one of my friend lost $3,000. :(

The problem is they are reversing the recent payments which were paid through Personal Payment option.

And also there has been long delays in getting payment from them. I requested payout on 26th January and still waiting of it to arrive. I hope it comes safely. :(

    Thanks
