    Hi,
I am just an employee and brought my company a 15K sale. They said they would pay commission which is great. It's for a new website company. Part of the deal is that we will own 20% of this new website company which has the possibility to being really big. Should I or can I ask for a small percentage of this new company instead of the commission?
    Thanks!

Hi Ulrich, welcome to our Business Forum. There should be no harm in asking for a percentage of the company in lieu of your commission. In fact the company may prefer pay you in this way because it will cost them less money up front and the fact that you own a percentage of the business will be a strong motivator for you in your job.

Do remember however, that the company may have their own reasons for not agreeing with your request. If they turn down your suggestion don't take it personally.

Good luck with it and please let us know how it works out.

IMO nothing wrong in asking, if you feel the percentage is better then commission.

Find out nice way of asking, can have good chance of approval :)

    Good luck.
