The company I work for is new, and we created a lot of content when we first started out. The problem is, this content wasn't very SEO friendly, and didn't have many links etc.

Is it worth going back over these articles and changing titles and adding links to make them rank better? Would that work or are they old and forgotten now?

    Thanks

Of course it is better to make them more seo friendly if possible. But still, the quality of the content itself is more important

I agree with Sigma, it would be worth updating and improving those articles. Make sure that they contain original content and are not copies of other content on the web. It would also be great if you could add some new content to each page you work on, so that when the search engines crawl them again, they will see that they have been updated.

Are they already publish to internet?

I mean, Does google already index it?

    Change is good.
But we can not expect google to reindex soon.

Well, don't worry about the index if your content is good enough, google is hungry for the fresh content. Just ensure the seo is sufficient, it can never be hard on getting indexed

I am also agree with sigma. Quality and seo friendly articles could more effective. And one more suggestion for you if you are not able to manage them manually than hire one content writer. Because only quality content helps to rank higher on search engines.

Sigma sums it up really well. Make sure you 301 the content if it has moved on the website - this will retain any possible links from the past.
