    Which function calculates the largest value in a set of numbers in Excel?

    It is so simple the function name is MAX to calculate the largest value in a set of numbers.

    Those function will return the result in different way. You cannot judge it with meaning of word. You have to understand the syntax of each. And also the result will vary the result will vary depending on range active cells and data entered.
