Seeking ideas on small business Time Management challenges
I am applying for a job with a company that helps small business owners with part-time virtual assistant services and they also help with Time Management issues. As part of process, I am seeking to collect the top three Time Management Challenges of a few small business entrepreneurs.
What are the top three Time Management Challenges you have with running or growing your business?

    Thanks in advance for replying!

    1. Branding products or services in a positive manner.
    2. Forming a strong client base for running business smoothly.
    3. Also availing financial assistance with a low rate of interest.

The top three time management challenges for me have been:

    • Initial setup, marketing and advertising phases of the business.
    • Establishing product procurement channels with reliable suppliers and acquiring loyal customers for bulk sales.
    • Effective stock control and internal administration and bookkeeping of the business.

    - Learning to delegate
    - Trusting employees to do their jobs (and ways to track that)
    - Measuring time ROI (e.g. figuring out whether streamlining a system is worth it or if you just think it is - oversystemising and all that)

The following are now a concern for me because they eat up my time:
    1. Coaching new and problem employees eats a lot of time
    2. Providing contingent plans as a result of lack in staff commitment
    3. Non-business related activities like personal visits

    1. One Hour Meetings (Let's get to the point people!)
    2. Understand 80/20 rule and 80% of your time is pointless until you understand that you can get the most out of that 20%
    3. Less talking with other co-workers! (People will slow you down on success)

Also if you drive far to work such as 1 hour + you can carpool with someone and pay for the gas. That will give you 1 hour to work and 1 hour home to get work done.

Find time because it's all around you

stay true to the 80/20 law and know that 20% of you effort will drive 100% of business but you have to find out what that 20% is.

I wasn't the one asking the question, but I am very interested in the answers. I've been in business for several years now and yet in some ways it feels like I am now getting started. I gleaned quite a bit from ever thing presented. Time management is critical to success is as much as I can say.
