How different is the optimization on that site and Google?

Nice SE. But it seems way to far yet to outwit Google. Though it seems good an applies simplicity on its pages just like G does.

As much as I like DDG and the way the founder has slowly built the product, switching from Google is just not going to happen. I'd advise anyone to use other search engines but if you compare the results with Google, and I'd include Bing here, you'll find no-one can match them. Google's results are not only better, they're just simply far more comprehensive i.e they crawl/index more content than anyone.

Indeed, I don't think any site will be beating Google anytime soon.

So far, I notice that keywords domain and linking are major ranking factors.

Its getting popular because of they showing real search and not tracking privacy. I guess you does not reading these: donttrack.us and dontbubble.us

Google is getting tired, it is possible for others search engine to take over.

We can't ALWAYS assure what people say about their site is true. How could you be so sure that they are not doing all these tracking?

I know this is a personal matter, but I've been using Duck Duck Go and Bing exclusively for about a month and a half now and I'm getting along just fine. I don't like Google's monopolistic ways or its tactics like enforced, unfair privacy policies. I use Bing rarely, DDG mostly.

I have used guide.opendns.com for months now and swear by it.

http://www.opendns.com is effectively a way of speeding up your browsing whilst making it more secure, anyone interested in better security should check it out.

If they are tracking user stat, I am sure they will not make such announcement. DDG is directly attack Google, not Bing nor Yahoo. If DDG lie, surely Google will attack them.

We can't deny that normal internet users will still go to Google even us webmasters go to DDG.
