I've an old WordPress blog on cPanel hosting. I haven't accessed the blog in the last few years and can't find the log in password or email address.

I have full access to the blog through cPanel. Is there any way to find or reset the password or email for WP log in?

    Hi Fergal,

You can do this pretty easily by editing the Database directly using phpMyAdmin.

*Note: Making changes this way comes with obvious risk if something goes wrong.

There are a few different ways you can recover/replace it. As Barry mentioned, you can do it through phpMyAdmin (some guidance here), through mySQL (if you're more comfortable there - Part 1 of the previous link covers this) or through FTP, if you have access (as outlined in the comments here).

Hope you get it sorted easily enough.

Welcome to our business forum Barry Hand, great to meet you here and thanks for your help. The link to the tutorial you gave me via Twitter is also very helpful http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/

Thanks also Paul, those links are great.

    I've got everything sorted now.

Thanks for the suggestion thpalex. That would be an easy way to get it if they would do it, not sure that my host would, however. It's certainly something you could do, if your blog was hosted somewhere like WordPress.com.
