    Assembling a competitive analysis. Looking for a word to describe a business that is reliant one-person for success. Somebody who is the face of the company, somebody who uses thier connections to keep business going. NOT a sole propietorship. Essentially, a more formal word for a one-man show.

    thanks a lot

    Would "An owner managed business" work for you?

    Welcome to BAF mklar!
    How about "Independent business"? or "Sole business"?

    This could be a tough one. Based from your description, here it is and how did I get into the business name.
    Your description ----> Portrait of Words ----> Final Words
    Competitive ----> Good ----> Pure/White
    Reliant-one person & face ---> Trust ----> Gold
    Connecting ----> Relate ----> Link

    How does "Pure Gold Link Enterprises" sound to you?

    The formal term is "Key man" I believe, though it's possible for a business to have more than one.

    Depends, is the term your looking for supposed to direct a positive connotation or a negative one. For example in my business (Business Coaching) a business that is owner dependant is a negative thing. So I use a terms like "Bottle Necked" meaning the growth is restricted by the flow. If it is seen as a neutral something like "owner-managed"would be fine. If it is seen as a positive thing (can't imagine why it would be) "owner-directed" or somthing that emulates growth would be good.
