Both are best communication tools. Laptop is a my practical choice in terms of portability. For applications that require huge memory and high-end sound cards I prefer to use desktop.

I use a desktop as I don't need to move about and can work from my office. A desktop is more comfortable to sit at and you get more computer power for your money when you buy a desktop.

Personally, I prefer using desktop due to its processing power, cheaper parts and screen size.
What I don't really like on a laptop is the keyboard size and the touch pad...

I prefer desktops. They are more reliable, even though they are not portable. Laptops can break easy. Desktops also have more space generally.

And my Laptop is my work station and every other stuff.

I have both a laptop and a PC. I use a laptop at work and at home I use only a PC. I can't see any difference between them so much.

I prefer desktop because of the space. I have a couple of games and a lot of files and my laptop is almost full - whilst my desktop at work has a 1 terabyte drive with only 1% used up :p Desktops are easy to add in ram, new card slots, ect. Laptops, you might break something.

I was anti laptop for a long time until I got one at work. I replace my desktop about a week later. I love being able to go portable, having it sit on the table in front of me watching tv or sports and the silence. The power save isn't a bad thing either.

Both are workable. Laptop is only good if you are always on the go because it's portable but there's a danger or big hacking risk that you might be hacked when you open your laptop on unencrypted public wifi.

I'm more comfortable using desktop. Besides, I don't worry much that it will break or something and it has a cheaper parts compared to laptop,

I use both also. I use a laptop when I want to sit in my living room or when I am traveling. 90% of the time I use my desktop.

I prefer the desktop because you get so much more power for the same monetary investment. The laptop is great when traveling though.

I am much more efficient sitting at my desk using my desktop pc also.
