Is forum posting a black hat SEO method?
No, Forum posting is not a black hat SEO. Forum posting should not be done in bulk and should look reasonable. Regular interaction is must in forum posting.
Jacob is right, forum posting, as such, is not black hat. Having said that however, posting in a forum just to get the link is, and should be, frowned upon by the forum's administrators. I have made several posts related to my area of expertise, and have included links in my signature. I have also made posts not related to my area of expertise, and have not included my signature. Used properly, there are several ways to obtain links. Used improperly, you could not only harm your rankings, but your reputation as well.
Forum Posting can't be Black Hat like everybody says. Just don't overdo it like spamming whole forum with similar posts and links.
It only becomes blackhat if you're using sneaky methods to manipulate the search engine's results.
Yes and No.
No, if you are posting quality post
Yes, If you are spamming
However, Forum posting is way more on explore your site than link building
Hi there. I agree with you that regularly we should participate in forum posting. But many of websites will block users those who have signature if they post regularly? Can you please reply me then how we should do it???
They will generally only do that if the forum member is spamming or posting lots of pointless posts.
The answer is actually quite simple and straight forward, make quality posts that contribute to the discussion.
No, it is not black hat. Mostly forum posting site running your own polices to avoid spam if you post link only for back link purpose they will banned you permanently so focus on quality post and do naturally to get quality link.
Forum Posting is not black hat technique. But we should avoid spam posting...
There are many things which needs to be take care -
the posts should be relevant
donot use multiple keywords at signature
donot put link on the very first post
No, Forum Posting is not a Black Hat Technique.
I do agree with above answer. Forum posting is not black hat techniques
It's not a known Black Hat technique. It's one of the oldest way of gaining links which some SEOs take advantage and causes Admins and mods a headache.
Forum posting can be black hat - in certain conditions.
* When a forum is created only for the purpose of allowing members to post and earn links through signatures
* Wherein members post irrelevant posts and threads just for the sake of getting their signatures seen or earn backlinks through their posts
However, forums can be white hat - in certain condition too:
* When a forum is properly maintained and moderated
* When a forum gives out only the right information, idea and discussion
* When the forum offers members "the right information" and not just about signatures
Natural activity is not black hat. If you just single comment on a forum then leave with the signature that activity counts as black hate. Work is same as was but the way to do is change.
It's not a blackhat method. But either way, if you are aiming to have a good ranking using forum posting, you will still gain nothing.
There is no statistics or experiments proving that forum posting can be a blackhat. Though it doesn't really mean that you can bomb forums with lots of signatures on your posts. Now, posting something silly or irrelevant to a forum is not a blackhat. It's just a simple unethical act that a spammer can do.
Forum links lost it's power to rank a site years ago. However, there are some benefits that a forum posting can do to you - you can still get referral traffic, links (of course), and good online reputation.
If forum posting is blackhat, aren't we all doing blackhat SEO here? LOL.
As explained by the people before me, if you do quality responses and not spamming, it's whitehat.
But if you spam a forum or blast your links on it, it will be blackhat.
Think about it, will your links stay long if you spam a forum, no, right? So it's definitely a waste of your time. Just join the discussions and reply with quality posts as much you can, and it will definitely stay longer and will have a better impact on your link.
Forum posting is a good source of back links. I don't think so that it's a black hat SEO. As long as you're posting as a way to help build relationships, drive traffic, etc.
