Do I really have to go on Twitter? Or would my blog be enough?

No, you don't "have to" go on Twitter, but your blog will not be enough. In addition to participation on social sites, you will need to obtain or create links to your site from related articles on quality sites. You also have to have a clear plan detailing what you are going to do, and when you are going to do it. In addition to Twitter, you can use Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and other social networking websites. Just remember, you are their to provide information and opinions, not just to promote yourself. Don't forget the "social" in "social networking". You can occasionally mention a promotion, and you can run ads on some of these sites, but when interacting with other members, promotion should be as covert as possible.

I think a blog is not enough to get visitors. You should promote your site on social media to get a quick response.

With so much competition, just maintaining a blog might not be enough. You will have to rely on social media.

Just having a blog won't be enough, you need to do social media networking as well. You need to let people know about your blog and at the same time interact them as well.

Maybe only I need Facebook. I can forget the blog. Because I need Facebook to send people to my blog for the purpose of sending people to my website. What I put on the blog I could post on Facebook instead. Would it be enough?

Actually, you wouldn't be putting it on Facebook "instead". After posting a new entry in your blog, you would then share it on Facebook. This would put a short snippet on your Facebook page, which would link to the actual blog post. Plus, why limit yourself to Facebook? You can do the same with Twitter, and you can share the actual blog post on other networking sites such as LinkedIn, MosaicHub, and others. As a result, you would gain more readers for your blog, and they could then become visitors to your website. You may even get visitors from your networking memberships, but this does not mean you should get rid of the blog. Based on your original question, it seems like you are thinking of "or" rather than "and". To promote your website effectively, you need to use as many resources as possible.

A blog is enough to attract targeted people especially if it rank of search terms use by searchers. however, blog may not be enough to make your products visible on people who aren't searching your services, if you can combatantly get into the social networks and go viral, business may simply go well with you.

This is why marketing techniques are being used by seo specialist to advertise their products and services particularly to the PPC programs.

Thank you for all you replies and suggestions.

And I see your point. Going viral would be the very best but it even be good to just get a few people talking about it, like word-of-mouth advertising.

The only thing is, now I found out WordPress TOU does not allow promoting my website, although I can post links. I have fixed things up so it doesn't look like advertisements, etc. But this makes it confusing to me to go on Facebook to send people to my Blog to send people to my website, all without promoting my website.

The reason I want to do only one is to save the work and time. Going to Facebook to send people to my Blog to send people to my website, could be shortened to go from Facebook to Website.
