    Hi guys,

I've just formed a new limited company, equal shareholder and directorship with a colleague living in Canada. He has a UK bank account as he's a UK citizen but we've been told by all the banks we can't get a business bank account without at least £10k startup capital to put in the account at the start (which we don't have and wouldn't want to do anyway). We've even stated he doesn't need to be a signatory on the account but they wouldn't change their stance.

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of a similar scenario or new of any other means of getting a business bank account without the need for such an upfront deposit/commitment.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Try Natwest or Metrobank, both offer Ltd company accounts with a more relaxed approach. I would suggest contacting the Natwest direct business banking dept rather than the normal numbers of branches
