Although it has one of the lowest budgets of all US States for promoting tourism, Idaho's tourism industry is worth $3 billion and is seen as key to helping and growing the state's ailing economy

Idaho's Division of Tourism is testing 3D technology that enables prospective visitors to virtually fly over the state, viewing attractions and scenery along the route.

In other technology based promotional innovations the State is using 360-degree panoramic photography on its tourism Web site, exploring an iPhone application and planning a campaign around the reality show-style story of a stressed-out Seattle family that won a free Idaho vacation.

    More.
