Before you can add news about your site, we need to know you're really the site owner. Create a HTML verification file specified below and upload it to your website.

    xyz.html

Make sure you can view http://www.YOURSITE.com/xyz.html in your browser before verifying your site.

how do i upload above html file to my wordpress blog

In wordpress.com you can't upload any file but in wordpress.org you can upload.

I'd recommend just using the WordPress SEO Plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/) which has a simple form for setting the google site verification meta tag value (which is an alternative way to verify your site). That plugin also has the same sort of form for a couple of other search engines' verification processes. If you can't, for whatever reason, then use an FTP tool like cyberduck (http://cyberduck.ch/) or SCP if you're on mac or linux (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_copy) to copy the verification file (xyz.html in your post above) to your site's root directory on your server, and remove it after the verification process is complete.
